Zamajobe

A joy to hear and a beauty to behold, Zamajobe has made an indelible impression on the South African music scene.  First coming into prominence in 2003, when selected as an Idols Competition top-10 candidate, Zamajobe has spread her musical magic across the country. 

Her debut album Ndawo Yami (My Place), which gained Zamajobe a SAMA award for Best Newcomer, as well as being nominated for Best Jazz Vocal Album, Best Joint Composition and Best Engineer, was awarded gold status for sales in excess of 25 000 units.  She has shared the stage with the most hip and happening names in the industry, including Liquid Deep, GoodLuck and Teargas, and is rapidly gaining ardent devotees throughout South Africa.

Zamajobe is not only a gifted singer, but also a talented guitarist and song-writer, characteristics evident from the soulful lyrics and melodies of her album.  On stage, Zamajobe is a delight for the senses.  Her voice is nothing short of transcendent whilst her elegance and poise captivate onlookers. Taking her inspiration from Funk, Jazz, Afro-beat and Gospel, Zamajobe’s music offerings are rich, complex and varied, but always on the cutting-edge.
