Virgil Ellis is a versatile solo performer (“one man band”) covering songs from most popular music genres, from current radio hits to favourites from yesteryear.
His extensive repertoire (which includes more than 500 songs), vocal range and instrumental skills allow him to create the perfect mood for the different stages of most events:
- cocktail sets of mellow Jazz and Traditional Jazz Instrumentals
- dinner sets with soft music from artists like Sting and Eric Clapton which he plays on acoustic guitar
- dance sets on electric guitar and harmonica performing eighties rock
Virgil, who has been making music since his early teens, has been part of numerous popular duos and bands. As a finger style and blues guitarist he took the folk scene by storm in the eighties, which lead to the opening of a guitar school, which he still runs.
International Noteworthy Performances
- Virgil spent six months at The Intercontinental Hotel in Abu Dhabi, performing at the popular club AMPM
- Performed for three months in Dubai at the Le Meridian Hotel at Satchmos

He played on the folk and club circuits in and around England and Wales from 1979-1982. Here he performed both as a soloist, as well as with various bands - notably the Country rock outfit Quarter Moon, and Welsh Rock band Xcalibre
