Titi Tsira is a soulful singer from the heart of Gugulethu, singing Blues, Afro Jazz, Afro Pop fused with Traditional elements.
Born into an artistic family, her mother being an actress and her father a singer, Titi started singing at a very early age. Her first experience of the music industry was participating in Shell Road To Fame as soloist with the band Earth Tones, duetting with artists like Mxolisi Mayekana. A few years later she joined the band MTF, with whom she released a CD "Game of Love" in 2003.
A career highlight for Titi was performing in the "Diva Show" at Mannenburg Jazz Café, where she performed with Dorothy Masuka, Abigail Kubeka, Thandi Klassen and Sylvia Mdunyelwa. She has also performed at numerous festivals in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
This internationally experienced vocalist is also a dancer and actress. She played the lead the Baxter production "Gaptoothed Sisters", directed by Itumeleng wa Lehulero, and performed in Durban for a conference "The All Nations Against Racism", where she had the opportunity of meeting Harry Belafonte.
International Noteworthy Performances
- Toured Norway and Namibia with the Hashoo Bashoo marimba band
- Titi was invited to Senegal by Mama Dou Konte where she performed at Manu Debango's 70th birthday
- Performed at Africa Fete 25th anniversary in Dakar
- Performed at the Cannes Film Festival, Paris
- Collaborated with a group called Saintric from Dakar Senegal
- Collaborated with a brass band from Norway called "The Brass Brothers"
