Soli Philander

Soli Philander is a multi-award winning and multi-talented entertainer whose distinctly unique brand of Cape Coloured humour never fails to leave a smile on the face of his audience, whether on-air, -screen, or live in theatre. 

This versatile performer (actor, director, comedian, writer and radio & television presenter) is a household name in South Africa, having performed around the country for more than 20 years in all the key theatres, as well as internationally in Sweden, The Netherlands, America, the UK and both Swaziland and Namibia.

In 2011, Soli founded the Cape Town-based online radio station The Taxi, on which he is the headline presenter. A veteran of the talk radio industry, Soli has hosted numerous radio talk shows on top including Capetalk Radio, Punt Geselsradio and RSG,  to name a few. He has also portrayed comic characters on both Metro FM and AM Live.

Television highlights include presenting Kyknet and M-Net's celebrity hit Liriekeraai, as well as the gameshow Vat 'n Kans. He has also presented the M-Net travel show Exploring Southern Africa, been a field reporter for Front Row (a glamorous magazine program), and hosted or featured in the comedy shows Lagnet, People of the South, Punch Line and It's a Funny Country.  Most recently he hosted the South African version of American hit show "Are you smarter than a 5th grader".
