The group, which is based in the Cape Winelands, has performed at top venues such as the Arabella Sheraton Grand Hotel, Mount Nelson Hotel, Tuynhuys, Cape Grace Hotel, Cellars Hohenort, Cape Town International Convention Centre, Marimba Restaurant, Green Dolphin Restaurant, V&A Waterfront, and any more. The band is also very proud to have had performed in front of former president Nelson Mandela.
The quartet consists of Ephron on sax / keyboard, Carl Van Rensburg on vocals and drums, Wesley Rustin on bass, Lorna Maralack on keyboard and Natalie on vocals. They have performed at various high profile functions, including the SAA Wine Awards (since 2000), as well as events for BMW, Hyundai, SA Parliament, etc.
Ephron Maralack, founder and leader of the band, is a versatile pianist and saxophonist, with a Licentiate qualification. He learned the sax and piano in Paarl, and received further Jazz training from Henry February and Mertyn Barrow at the Cape Jazz Workshop, where he also taught Jazz piano for 2 years. This UWC BCom graduate has been working in the music industry for well over a decade, having started out as member of the SA Army band for 7 years.
