South African musician Richard Wilson, although classically trained, has played in numerous rock bands in South Africa, notably McCully Workshop and The Wright Brothers, before going it alone with his first solo album (piano and orchestra) in the early 80’s.
After a long spell at Sun City, Richard moved to Paris, France, where he played for two years at Casino de Deauville and Regines. This led to contracts in Switzerland, where he now spends a lot of his time playing in upscale resorts and hotels such as Grand Hotel Victoria-Jungfrau, Palace, Luzern, and Beau Rivage, Lausanne, as wel as in Norway at the Britannia Hotel, Trondheim. Since 2003 he has played aboard the luxury floating resort, The World, on her continuous worldwide voyage.
Richard produced his second album, Planeteer, in 2001 and his third album, Archipelago in 2006.
