Biography

Natalie Becker is an award-wining international actress, voice artist, radio DJ and television presenter, and a sought-after Master of Ceremonies and Speaker, with some of her top clients including Taj Hotels, Resorts and Palaces, British Airways, V&A Waterfront, Provincial Government and The Nelson Mandela Day Ubuntu Festival.

Natalie is currently one of South Africa's most successful film actresses, with numerous feature roles in international films to her credit.  She won the 2009 SAFTA (South African Film and Television Award) for Best Supporting Actress in a Feature Film, for her portrayal of ‘Farah’ in The World Unseen, based on Shamim Sarif’s award-winning novel. She also played opposite John Malkovich as ‘Soraya’ in Disgrace, based on J. M Coetzee’s Booker Prize-winning novel, and she played the role of  ‘Ariad’ in the 2011 BBC film Atlantis: Death of a World: Birth of a Legend.   The Deal saw her starring opposite William H. Macy and Meg Ryan, and she also played the role of ‘Astarte’ in the Universal Pictures film Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior.

Natalie has hosted television shows on all major SA channels, including SABC3's Top Billing, and the conscious living show Free Spirit, which won a 2008 Best Magazine Show SAFTA (South African Film and Television Award).  She is also well-known for hosting and producing some of the most popular radio shows on the airwaves in the Western Cape, including Natalie @ Nine on Heart FM (1998-2006) and Cape Town after Dark on Good Hope FM (2006-2009), as well as an online radio show on 2oceansvibe radio.

This University of Cape Town and Meridian Leadership Program graduate is also involved with various social development, literacy and life skills projects, including hosting various speakers (including Dr John Demartini) through her speaker series ‘Best you can Be’, being an ambassador for the organization MOT (‘Courage’ in Norwegian), speaking at the Tutu Peace Foundation’s Young Women’s Leadership Workshops and being a member of the Organising Committee for Archbishop Desmond Tutu’s 80th birthday.  As Lifestyle Editor for ‘The Deal’ magazine, Natalie also wrote an inspirational manifesto for learners titled ‘Tao of Nat’.

In 2011, Natalie was invited to attend Andrea Kerzner's 'Lalela Project' Fundraiser in New York, and ran the 2011 New York Marathon, raising funds for Elana Meyer's JAG Foundation.
