Max Starcke

Multi-instrumentalist Max Starcke studied Classical Guitar, Ethnomusiology and Composition at the South African College of Music (UCT), and also plays saxophone and electric bass.  Since graduating in 2004, he has been working as a session musician, composer, producer and artist, performing with many bands, and for a variety of projects and productions (including Aeon Song, Howell & Starcke, LMR Trio, Starkravingsane, Hot Water, La Rosa Spanish Dance Theatre, Casta Alma, Alan Funk and many others of various genres and disciplines).

As solo Classical Guitarist, Max's performance features guitar music by composers such as Villa-Lobos, Brouwer, Takemitsu, Sor, Carcassi, Tarrega, De Visee, Aguado, selected popular & and folk tunes, as well as original pieces, all played acoustically on a traditionally hand-made custom nylon string Classcial guitar. Max's dresscode includes either smart black, whites & greys or casual earthtones.
