Malcolm Ferreira

Malcolm Ferreira is a fresh, dynamic and original comic who is in great demand as corporate MC/entertainers in South Africa.  Best-known as Jan from the Vodacom "Player 23" rugby campaign, Malcolm has been a professional comedian for the past decade, performing stand-up comedy across South Africa and abroad, as well as acting on television and radio.

Malcolm, who has the unique ability to read just about any audience and adapt to any environment, lives by the slogan borrowed from Sir Francis Bacon “Imagination was given to man to compensate him for what he is not, and a sense of humor to console him for what he is".  He has even been dubbed the Dr Phil of politically incorrectness, due to his astute observational abilities and no holds barred delivery style.

Malcolm started his international career performing at the groundbreaking SA-only stage at the Edinburgh festival in 2005, earning rave reviews.  He went on to perform in London, Dublin, Seychelles, Sydney, Dubai and Botswana.  Television appearances include sketches for The Flipside and The Pure Monate show, Comedy Showcase, The Res, and Pap Idols, and presenting the final run of "Going Nowhere Slowly".  He has even featured in an independent film "Slam-Bang", which showed at various film festivals, and on radio, Malcolm was a firm favourite as the ‘original’ KFM 94.7 Fugitive. 

With his quick wit and fearless approach to stage performances, Malcolm has been a valued member of various improv troupes at events and festivals like Up the Creek and Oppikoppi.
