Jimmie Earl Perry is an internationally renowned American performer in musical theatre, film, tv and recordings, who is now resident in South Africa, where he recently released his self produced debut album "Power of the Dream". All of the songs on this album have received national radioplay, and share the theme of giving tribute and celebrating life in the face of adversity.
With his powerful baritone and gospel-filled voice and dynamic stage persona, Mr. Perry has had a successful and stunning international career since leaving Westminster Choir College in Princeton New Jersey, a prestigious and well known music university. Performing lead roles in productions in New York, Canada, Australia and Europe in such shows as Miss Saigon, Dreamgirls, Cats, Starlight Express and Jesus Christ Superstar. Currently producing HIV/AIDS Educational Theatre for the Africa Centre for HIV/AIDS Management at Stellenbosch University, Mr. Perry has fused both his artistry as a gifted performer and training others to use theatre, music and dance as a tool to educate the public about AIDS to reduce and prevent new infections around the world.
