iGrooves

iGrooves is an original and dynamic South African based drum ensemble, which combines the complex rhythms of traditional African culture with the popular simplicity of basic House and Pop grooves. The band, formed by ex 1st Project member Travis Marc, is making waves in the corporate world, with an impressive list of clientele on their resume, including Vodacom (circ show at the Sun City Superbowl), Peroni (private yacht party on Hartebeespoort dam), and Samson (at the Sandton Convention Centre). The band are also crowd favorites at Trance/House festivals, and has co-headlined at the popular "Great Escape" festivals.

Repertoire

This exciting drum ensemble performs energetic arrangements of popular drumming numbers such as "Safro Duo" and "Life", as well as many original and traditional compositions using some very unusual material. The band caters its performance for each event, by including the client's theme into their playlist. Performing as a trio (or larger ensemble, depending on specific requirements), the band showcase their technical skills, whilst at the same time creating a party vibe with ease.

Style

Influenced by acts like Napalma and Stomp, iGrooves prove to be truly unique, and opt to use everyday material objects such as chairs, boxes or cans in conjunction with drums to create their distinctive rhythms. With various praising reviews to their credit, iGrooves guarantees an energetic and captivating show, which will blow away any audience!

The Performers

iGrooves is made up of some of the top drummers in South Africa, including Travis Marc, Stefan Lawrence, Jason Townsend, Darren Pennings, Werner Deysel, Brandon Bernardo and Howard Combrink. Individually, these drummers have performed on the same bill as Rock and Pop acts, Shaggy, Sean Paul, 3 Doors Down, Muse, The Audio Bullies and Jethro Tull. They have also performed in various countries abroad, including The Seychelles, Jamaica, London and Dubai.
