Gerry Elsdon

Gerry Elsdon (Rantseli) is a television presenter, host, MC and businesswoman best known for having been continuity announcer for M-Net, and co-hosting the first season of the reality television competition Big Brother South Africa in 2001. On the Corporate stage, she is a sough-after MC and an inspirational speaker.

• Launched Gerri E signature Collection in 2007, a jewellery range comprising of Swarovski crystals and fine metal
• Presenter on DStv channel ONE Gospel
• The face of LUX in Southern Africa.
• Launched and Edited Soul Magazine, 2002
• Holds active directorships in Hlobisile Transport Management
• Director: Marketing for Centurion Academie, a Pretoria based Tertiary Institution
• Founded Cinnamon Communications (Learn, Grow and Experience the Essence of Life)
• Master of Ceremonies at the International Vaccination Conference held in Cape Town and endorsed and attended by Former SA president Nelson Mandela and Chancellor of the University of Cape Town Mrs. Graca Machel Mandela.
• Social involvement include being Aids Ambassador for the Presidents Office, assisting and acting as patron for organizations like CHOC, Othandweni Children’s Home and the Othandweni Children’s Home, acting as spokesperson for the World Health Organizations South African STOP TB Campaign, assisting and inspiring young people in arts, entertainment and other fields, as well as supporting women leadership development.

Gerry started her working career within the liberation struggle as a teenager on the Cape Flats, and later followed the move of one of her mentors, Cheryl Carolus to Johannesburg to work for the ANC at National level.  She first worked in the Department of International Affairs as a secretary in the office of Thabo Mbeki who was then the Head of International Affairs and later SA's second democratically elected President, and finally the Department of Local Government and Housing learning from men such as Thozamile Botha and Slovo.
