Elfreda Jordaan

Elfreda Jordaan is one of Johannesburg's most popular harpists, with a repertoire that includes Classical, light Classical and Jazzy styles.

She started harp lessons in Johannesburg at a very young age, under the watchful eye of Kathleen Allister. After school, she furthered her studies in Paris, where Prof Devos took her under his wing. Elfreda achieved performer's and teacher's licenciates from UNISA and Royal Schools between 1977 and 1983.

Elfreda has been performing professionally for more than 3 decades, and has done a range of recording work for film, television and radio.  She has performed with many of the main South African orchestras, covering a range of musical styles.

Her first solo cd, "Souvenir", was released in 1996, and one of her career highlights was having been invited to play at the King of Lesotho's wedding in 2000.
