Dixie Swingers

The Dixie Swingers Jazz Band is a charming acoustic Jazz ensemble that will enhance your social or corporate event by creating the perfect mood, without being intrusive.

Headed by Eddie Blackhouse - also the founder of one of Cape Town 's premiere Big Bands "Jazzattac" - the band is a professional outfit consisting of highly acclaimed brass players, all of whom have played in the Cape Town symphony and/or Philharmonic orchestras, plus Banjo player. The band is very flexible (they can perform in different combinations - from a three- to a six-piece) and movable as they do not make use of any sound equipment or music stands.

The band is able to perform in virtually any kind of venue for any kind of event - from weddings to sports events. The Dixie Swingers is a hassle free band that is certain to entertain guests with pleasant ‘finger tapper’ and ‘bum wiggler’ tunes that most people know (specialising in Dixieland, Swing & German), and is sure to 'decorate' the venue with a musical smile and lighten the atmosphere.
