Claire Mawisa

Claire Mawisa is a South African television presenter, model and radio personality who had her first experience of the limelight at the age of 15, when she won the Cosmopolitan Model of the Year. She became the youngest and only the second black South African beauty to be featured on the cover of the local Cosmopolitan magazine.  She has since graced many magazine covers, including True Love, Pace, Drum, Real and Bona.

Her first television presenting job was that of SABC1 continuity presenter whilst still studying.  Other television highlights include being anchor presenter for SABC1’s flagship music show "One", co-hosting SABC2’s "Face 2 Face" with Mark Pilgrim, and Miss SA Teen with Michael Mol, presenting the reality fashion show "The Cut: South Africa"; co-hosting the second season of the reality show "You're Hired", with Pepsi Pokane, and co-presenting the lifestyle magazine television show "Africa Within", with Chilu Lemba.  She was a preferred choice for female MC during her 2 year stint as a Simunye presenter.

Claire also has a great passion for radio, and has co-hosted ‘Live and Dangerous’ (Yfm’s breakfast show) with Phat Joe, she joined Metro Fm as a DJ for the ‘Smirnoff Experience Dance Mix Show’ and as a Lifestyle reporter. This Duku Duku award winner also worked as beauty editor at Seventeen Magazine for over a year before deciding to get back into TV.
