Candice Moodley, best known as the bubbly presenter of the magazine show Eastern Mosaic, has been presenting on television since the age of 13, when she was selected by multimedia journalist Manu Padayachee to be the presenter for East-Net, an Indian Community Channel produced for M-Net. At the time she was the youngest continuity presenter in the country.
She presented K-TV on M-Net since 1990, a career which lasted for 10 years and saw her representing the channel throughout Africa and Europe. She travelled extensively for various productions, interviewing both local and international celebrities. The highlight of her career was being booked as Master of Ceremonies for former President Mandela’s birthday bash in Skukuza, Kruger National Park.
Candice worked on DSTV's Teen Sport as studio presenter and roving correspondent during 1999 and 2000, and presented internal corporate TV broadcasts for Standard bank from 2000 until 2002. As co-host of Eastern Mosaic since 1999, Candice has her finger on the pulse of trends and events in the Indian community, and has been at the forefront of introducing Bollywood to a broader South African audience along with the glitz and glamour of the East. Moodley also had cameo roles in the SABC dramas Soul City and Jozi-H.
In 2007 Candice was one of the celebrity dancers in the reality show Strictly Come Dancing 3, where she reached the finals with her dancing partner Quintus Jansen. In mid-2008 she was appointed by National Government as one of the Ambassadors of ‘Ke Moja’, the National Anti-Drug Initiative spearheaded by the National Department of Social Development and the National Youth Commission.
Candice has acted as MC for a variety of events, including The German Chamber Of Commerce Annual Chairman’s Dinner, the MTN Y’ello Breakfast Road shows, United Nations AGFUND Awards, Sony Ericsson Launch events, Telkom 15th Birthday Bash, South African Express Airways Bombardier Q400 Launch, Women & Men Against Child Abuse Gala Dinner and Midas Awards, ATNS Reward & Recognition 2008 National Events, to name a few.
