Camerata Tinta Barocca, founded by violinist Quentin Crida in July 2004, is a Baroque ensemble consisting of some of Cape Town's finest Classical musicians. The authentic orchestra includes string instruments and harpsichord.
The group's concerts have received critical acclaim in the Cape Times and Die Burger, and have been broadcast on Fine Music Radio (FMR).
With monthly performances at St George's Cathedral, Camerata Tinta Barocca (whose name is derived from the musicians' passion for Baroque music and red wine!) plays music almost exclusively from the Baroque era. The ensemble invites soloists to perform with them in oratorios as well as in wind, keyboard, and string concertos.
