Barry Hilton

With over 25 years in the business, Barry Hilton has become one of the country’s most celebrated comics. Fondly known as "The Cousin", Hilton has brought mirth to millions, spreading his special brand of sidesplitting humour across South Africa and abroad.  He has shared the stage with the likes of Billy Connoly, Bob Monkhouse and Les Dennis and was the first South African ever to perform at the prestigious London comedy club, The Comedy Store.

With sell-out tours and performances, Hilton is in constant demand for his incredible knack of turning the habitual into the hilarious, all with a proudly South African twist that transcends boundaries of colour, creed and social standing. Being regarded as the “cleanest comic around”, Hilton’s unique humour appeals to anyone and everyone and has endeared him to even the harshest critics. In addition to his acts for corporate shows, conferences and gala banquets, Hilton has devised an exciting motivational concept for companies: The Laughter Factory shows employees how to bring more humour into the workplace, a key ingredient when building a healthy and prosperous business.

As well as stand-up comedy, Hilton has made a number of television appearances, including his own chat show Funny You Should Say That (which ran for 13 episodes on primetime SABC in 2003) and numerousSavanna Dry advertisements. He has recorded three DVDs with his 2001 title, Here We Go Again, achieving gold status for sales exceeding 50,000.

Being a prolific writer, Hilton pens all his own material, including music.  His work has been recorded on video and CD and is enjoying great commercial success.
