Bala Brothers
Location: Based in JohannesburgBiography

The world renowned Bala Brothers are one of the top exponents of the new "African Popera", a genre which fuses Opera and Classical music with African music and Pop. Having risen to fame as a trio, consisting of the three brothers Zwai, Loyiso and Phelo, The Bala Brothers are a duo as of 2012, to allow Phelo - the youngest of the three brothers who was still at school when the group broke through the market - to further his studies.
Eldest brother Zwai is a versatile singer, songwriter, musician, producer, arranger, DJ and TV personality, while multi-SAMA Award winning Loyiso is arguably the hottest male artist on the music circuit and one of the most famous South African personalities today.
The Bala Brothers' stunning first album "B3", released in 2006, features a unique mix of songs inspired by both internationally and nationally acclaimed Artists. Most tracks on the album were recorded with full orchestra under the baton of Richard Cock. Their next album, "Strome van Seen", produced by Zwail Bala and Cobus Snyman and released in 2008, was highly acclaimed for being a personification of the constant progression and diversity of the Bala Brothers brand. Encompassing vocal prowess coupled with an awesome crossover song selection, the aim of this album is to entrench the Bala Brothers in the minds of a greater South African audience.
