Annemie Stimie (Flautist & Pianist) started her music training at the age of eight and has successfully completed various music exams, including UNISA’s performance licentiate (cum laude) and a teacher’s licentiate in piano and the grade 8 examination (with distinction) in flute.
Her name appears on UNISA’s Honorary Roll for her achievement in the International Scholarship Competition. In 2003 and 2005 she attended the international Advanced Piano Workshop (UNESCO) in the Czech Republic and Bulgaria respectively, where she performed and received master classes from world renowned pianists including Joseph Banowetz, Adam Wodnicki and Tamas Ungar. In 2006 she completed her Bachelors in Music (cum laude) degree at the University of Pretoria, where she studied piano under Prof. Joseph Stanford, and she is currently embarking on a Master’s degree in Musicology at the University of Stellenbosch. Annemie lives out her passion for music by arranging music and performing in chamber ensembles, while se plans to contribute to the South African Classical music world through research and teaching.
