Biography

Singer, pianist, composer & arranger Amanda Tiffin is a highly accomplished international artist. She graduated from the University of Cape Town in 1999 with a Masters Degree in jazz composition and vocal performance, and has gone on to become one of Cape Town’s best-loved vocalist-pianists, and a respected Musical Director/Arranger, orchestrator and composer.

Apart from her numerous South African performances, Amanda's international experience include appearances in London, with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and regular tours as a jazz artist in Asia. She has recorded 3 albums, the most recent with her Asia-based jazz trio – the a.s.k trio.

Amanda recently joined the College Of Music, University of Cape Town as the Head of Jazz Singing.

South African Noteworthy Performances

Amanda has performed extensively in South Africa in numerous Jazz venues, Concert Halls and festivals.
A career highlight was performing to an enthusiastic capacity crowd at the 2010 Cape Town International Jazz Festival, with her South African trio.
She has also been featured several times on the Standard Bank National Jazz Festival in Grahamstown, performing there in 2010 with the a.s.k trio.
