Allegro String Ensemble

Allegro Strings offers a string quartet, string trio, violin and cello duo, violin or cello solo and any other string ensemble on request.

Assembled entirely from members of Kwa-Zulu Natal Philharmonic orchestra in Durban, the quartet was established in 1994 by Kolio Kolev and his wife Petia, principal 2nd violinist with KZNPO.

The ensemble’s busy schedule includes performing at a variety weddings, business and private functions and corporate productions.  They have performed for politicians and dignitaries like Nelson Mandela, FW De Klerk, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles, and played at most of the five stars hotels in Durban and KZN, including The Royal Hotel, The Hilton, Zimbali and many more.  Allegro is the first choice of many wedding coordinators and upmarket wedding venues such as Tala, Collisheen, Braeside, Makaranga, etc.

The sound of the quartet is smooth, romantic and refined. Whether for an intimate gathering or a lavish formal affair, Allegro creates an elegant atmosphere throughout any special event and contributes a memorable celebration.
